We didn't travel anywhere for the 24th of July but since it was a day off for Justin, we still wanted to do something fun. We considered a hike but didn't think Molly would enjoy being strapped to our back-she's at the wiggly stage. So we opted for fishing. We've been to this pond before and although it is not kept up very well, it seemed like a good place for kids. The most exciting thing that happened was that Molly dropped the fishing pole in the water. I wasn't going to touch the water but Daddy saved the day and invented some contraption to get it out without having to get in.We didn't catch any fish but I managed to catch a big thing of moss-gross!Later that night after we all had naps (yes, Justin and I can still enjoy that luxury every once in a while) we headed to Eric and Heidi's for a barbecue. Molly had fun sliding down the slide backwards,Justin had fun on the slippery slide, and I had fun holding cute Lucas.Everyone wanted a taste of Justin's root beer slush. All the kids crowded around him waiting for their turn but Justin would first make them point to a certain body part (in this picture it was the head). He even got Rachelle and Camille in on the action.Eric had bought a huge package of fireworks that the boys had fun lighting in the driveway. Molly was scared (I can't blame her after what happened last time) so while the fireworks were going we played inside with Tiana's dress-upsand ate ice cream on the back porch.Later than night there was a real fireworks show that Molly did like. A private neighborhood across the street puts on a pretty impressive show. The best part? We got to sit on the grass and watch them-no crowds or traffic jams to deal with.Molly kept running around sitting on everyone's laps and saying "Boom! Boom!"
Thanks Eric and Heidi for having all of us over! We had tons of fun!

Molly has some mad sliding skills - I am very impressed....but I am more impressed with your moss catching skills. Now that makes for a yummy dinner.
